One of my top tips for asana practitioners who wan

One of my top tips for asana practitioners who want to develop their handstands is to have a separate handstand practice.
(Yes—yoga, in a way, does us. But we can also choose to make yoga a subject to study, to explore.)
Handstanding is a vast arena, and practice within this arena is a lot in itself. Those I work with who begin—and continue—a dedicated handstand practice tend to develop profoundly.
Of course, the breathing body doesn’t change. We don’t become fish when we handstand. The familiar qualities remain: elevation and lengthening on the exhale, access to the lower ribs softening inward towards the end of the exhale. What you experience in other asana and pranayama practices connects directly with handstanding.
Perhaps the greatest support in handstand practice is bhavana—equanimity, kindness, and friendliness toward oneself—rather than keeping results or “fruits” at the forefront.
The art of handstanding is far more interesting than “now I can press” or “now I can do a one-arm.”

I got curious and one conclusion is my photo library was much bigger in that era and there were some different meditational objects for Dharana and some similar!

Some musings ..
See if it makes a difference .. that what ever is happening where is the gratitude.
There are always other perspectives and if only defending one’s own there is no learning .
( if I was reposting this I’d swap the hello song .. as it’s a 2016 song but a bit depressing!)
